This rare xerophyle & petrophile species grows in southern Dobrogea.

Perennial plant, 10-40 cm high. Stems erect, branched at apex. Leaves with stellate setae. Full grown bracts almost 2 X longer than calyx. Corolla yellow, glabrous, 2-3 X longer than calyx.

Leaf upper side. Stellate setae grow on both sides of the leaves.

One year old, dried-up plants still standing among the following year's flowering ones.

After anthesis. Lower bracts clearly longer than calyx; their length increases towards the base of the flowering stem.
