This rare xerophyle & petrophyle species grows in steppic grasslands in Dobrogea and southernmost Moldova [GL].

Perennial plant, 30-70 cm high. Stems tomentose, multi-branched, branches becoming shorter towards the apex. Cauline leaves lanceolate, serrate, pubescent beneath. Dense cymes. Flowers small, whitish with a blue or purple shade.

Dense cymes with small flowers. Calyx teeth long, subequal, subulate, hairy. Calyx tube slightly shorter than teeth.

Plant near anthesis.
